Online and In-person Therapy for Adults in Massachusetts
You're feeling stuck in a cycle that seems unbreakable
The relentless, intrusive thoughts, the urges you can’t ignore—Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can make it feel like your own mind is working against you. It can leave you feeling stuck in a cycle of anxiety and compulsions, as if you’ve lost control over your own actions. Even when you logically know these patterns aren’t helping, breaking free can feel impossible.
OCD manifests differently for everyone. You may find yourself struggling with fears or compulsions related to:
-
Excessive checking (doors, appliances, or responsibilities)
-
Cleanliness and fear of contamination
-
Fear of causing harm to others
-
Doubts about relationships or sexual orientation
-
Repeatedly seeking validation from others, as a cycle of needing reassurance when having intrusive doubts or fears
-
The need for perfection, balance, or symmetry
-
Health-related fears (such as illness or disease)
You're ready to reclaim your life and find a sense of peace within yourself. You're committed to doing what it takes to feel balanced and at ease again. You want to reconnect with who you truly are and move forward with confidence.
OCD can make you question yourself and your ability to navigate the world around you. Through therapy, you can learn to retrain your brain, break free from doubt, and rebuild trust in yourself.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) can empower you to break free from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions.
In our work together, I will use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a highly effective, evidence-based approach for treating OCD. We will gradually and safely expose you to situations that trigger your obsessions while helping you resist the urge to engage in compulsive behaviors. This process allows you to build tolerance for discomfort, reduce anxiety over time, and regain a sense of control. I will guide and support you every step of the way, ensuring that we move at a pace that feels manageable while challenging the patterns that keep you stuck. Through ERP, you’ll learn new ways to respond to intrusive thoughts, helping you break free from the cycle of OCD and live with greater confidence and freedom.
